rockstar supernova!!

i'm so excited that rockstar supernova is finally here! i've been waiting for it since i heard there was gonna be a second rockstar series, with the first being rockstar inxs. If you have no idea what rockstar supernova is about, it's a reality show searching for the best rocker to front the new band Supernova. Supernova is an all-star band comprising of Gilby Clarke (guns and roses), Tommy Lee (motley crue), and Jason Newsted (metallica).

If you like american idol, hey this is so much fucking better. One rock concert every week?? i'm in heaven XD

I caught the delayed telecast yesterday evening. Most of the contestants are quite good. Watching yesterday's show, i have to say that i already have several favourites. Several. can't really pick one yet cos it's still early in the competition so we'll just have to wait and see their performances every week.

So here's who i like (in no particular order):
1) Josh Logan - josh performed 'she talks to angels' by the Black Crowes. I really like his soulful voice and i think he did justice to the song
2) Dilana - dilana performed 'lithium' by nirvana. awesome song. her performance was kick ass. awesome voice too
3) Toby Rand - surfer dude!! lol...this aussie performed an acoustic of 'knocking on heaven's door' by bob dylan. i really liked his performance. it was very laidback, natural and down to earth. and he has a nice voice
4) Jill Gioia - Jill is so cute. she's so small yet her voice is amazing. She did 'piece of my heart' by janis joplin.
5) Dana - Dana did 'i'm the only one' by melissa etheridge. wow. her voice was really nice. didn't really expect it from her. but hey, she did it really well
6) Lukas Rossi - Lukas did 'rebel yell' by billy idol. awesome performance. really felt he was a natural performer up there
7) Storm Large - storm started the show with 'pinball wizard' by the who. and it was awesome. And i love her name, it's so cool lol

There's one particular rocker who i have mixed feelings about. Zayra Alvarez. Her first in-studio performance was awful. And i wasn't impressed with her version of Evanescence's 'bring me to life' (which is one of my favourite songs). She does however, seem like a very interesting contestant so hopefully she does better next time. Jenny Galt wasn't too bad. She was so natural on stage singing and playing guitar.


***SPOILER ALERT***

So i just found out that Matt Hoffer was eliminated. He performed 'yellow' by coldplay in the performance show. He was voted bottom three along with Chris Pierson and Phil Ritchie. Finally it was really up to Supernova to decide who should leave.

Anyways, i'll be going now. Can't wait for future episodes of rockstar supernova...hehe. and check out the website if you have time. It's cool.
