remember the time when we were little kids watching animated disney movies, before the reign of CGI? i miss that time. for some reason, i dont enjoy the new cgi disney films as much as i enjoy the old fashioned cartoon ones. i used to LOVE (still do actually lol) stuff like sleeping beauty, cinderella, beauty and the beast, aladdin, and lion king. why dont they do stuff like that anymore? just because there's cg, doesnt mean we dont wanna see old fashioned cartoons anymore. i think its the storylines too. everything now is so modern and technological. lol. call me old fashioned but i'll choose the fantasy-ish romantic classics over the witty technological ones any day. so yeah maybe i dont only have a problem with cgi, i have a problem witht the stories too. haha. i like those fantasy-ish, mythical, legends and fairytale types. haha.
anyways, the reason i mentioned it was because of this: disney's the princess and the frog. looks like they've finally decided to go back to old fashioned 2d animation. yay. they are also doing rapunzel. woot woot. check out the details here. the animation is gonna be interesting. anyways here's the first teaser of the princess and the frog

do the panic
how is it that i didnt know panic at the disco were coming? lol! luckily ani mentioned that rach was thinking of going for the concert. thanks babe! hahaha. the gig is this coming tues, 5th august 2008 at stadium putra bukit jalil. tickets are reasonably priced (even more reasonable if you get it by the 2nd of august). so am i going? well if it starts anytime after 7 then YES I AM GOING! that's one thing annoying about the whole thing. no one knows what time the gig is. how is that possible? its not even on the ticketing office website! i'm just praying there'll still be tix left lol.

have money, will travel
so the past few months have seen friends going all over the world. uk, australia, usa, new zealand, japan, india, paris... you name it. it gets pretty depressing, being stuck in malaysia. therefore, i have a new goal. i intend to go to new york, london or japan before i turn 25. hehe. not to study mind you. just for a holiday. original plan was next year (high hopes eh?), but then i started counting and realised that even if i were to save about 500 - 600 rm a month for the next 18 months, i still wouldnt be able to afford a nice holiday! i dont intend to ask my parents for any money either. (plus i wouldnt be able to get my psp, electric guitar or ipod lol) if anything, new york is definitely out of the question. so i set a different goal. visit one of the three countries within the next 4 years. haha. anyone wanna go through it with me? :P
speaking of friends atas laut, shinying told me she saw *fangirl moment alert* mizushima hiro in japan. OHMYGAAAAAAA. HIROOOOOO...! *dies* that's another thing about living in malaysia. seeing a local celebrity will probably never excite me. lol.
moving on, i FINALLY saw dark knight. i'm sure everyone's watched it already (and blogged about it :P), but oh well:

bloody awesome movie. best movie i've watched so far this year. the actors did an awesome job. heath ledger (rip) is, as expected, fantastic as the joker. so twisted and creepy, yet hilarious and endearing. "watch me make this pen disappear" *bangs thug's head upon the pen* "TADA!" lmao. i dont usually like it when new actors replace a previous actor in a role but i think i preferred maggie gyllenhaal as rachel dawes compared to katie holmes. jim gordon's sudden 'death' made me think "oh no, not sirius black again!" and whoaaa christian bale is hot. i dont remember thinking he was hot in batman begins! haha.

'breaking dawn', the final installment of the twilight saga is coming in 4 days! i'm not sure if the release date will be the same here as in the US but still, it's so close! i work opposite not one, but TWO mph bookstores. whee! lol at first i was gonna preorder the book on mphonline but i figured i'd rather spend a little extra rather than wait god knows how long for the book to arrive. if you, like me, are anxious to know what happens in 'breaking dawn', head over to *dont click it yet!* ew.com. there is a spoiler (revealed by stephenie meyer herself) so absofuckinglutely DO NOT click the link unless you absofuckinglutely cannot resist. i couldnt. haha.

did i mention that i cut my hair a few weeks back? the length and messy-ness of my hair was irritating me so i went and cut it. it's now chin length. i def prefer the new cut to my previous one. i still wanna cut it shorter. wahaha. i wanted to highlight it purple too but my hairdresser doesnt think its a good idea. heh.
since i havent blogged properly i might as well mention one more thing.
for the past few months, i've been getting a lot of 'omg, you're almost 21!? i thought you were only 17!' wtf! do i really look 17?? and why is it always 17? why not 18 or 19? it's always 17! huh, maybe thats why i dont have a boyfriend. they dont wanna look like a paedo or something! lol.

first of all, thank you everyone for your condolences and well wishes :) i suppose life is getting back to normal now. there ARE certain issues at home but thats another matter.
to get things back on track, allow me to start with twilight :P (dont roll your eyes! lol)
the twilight lexicon posted a scan of the upcoming issue of entertainment weekly.. with robert pattinson and kristen stewart on the cover. as much as i love robert pattinson and kristen stewart as edward and bella, and twilight, i do NOT dig this photo. lol. but hey, it made it on pinkisthenewblog! that's gotta stand for something lol.
oh. 20 days to 'breaking dawn'! hope they release it on time in malaysia. lol.
has anyone heard of repo!the genetic opera? check out the trailers first. the second one is cool.
the person on the left at 0.55 in the first trailer looks like a member of the dresden dolls! lmao. but besides that, woot! a rock opera! sarah brightman is cool. paris hilton is not. lol. what's really awesome is that (according to wiki) yoshiki of x japan is producing the music for the movie! but yeah, looks like an interesting watch. i think it's one of those movies which will either be really cool, or reallllllllyyy bad. lol.
i have a thing for musicals. across the universe, grease, hairspray... lol.
speaking of movies, hellboy II: the golden army is out! man, i wanna watch it so badly! dark knight next week! whoooooo!
