discrimination is ugly

first of all, read this:

obviously, it's incredibly sad that the kid killed herself. but isnt it also sad that the first thing they point at is the music she listens to?

who gives these damn labels anyway? since when was my chemical romance a 'suicide cult band'? do they promote suicide? not as far as i know. sure, they have sad, angry, angsty lyrics. but when have they ever promoted suicide? i thought they were anti-violence, anti-suicide. bringing a musician's name into something like this is pretty unfair if you ask me.

what would bring a kid of 13 to kill herself? surely it cant be just the music.

what exactly is emo music?

I would say that 70% of the stuff i listen to have been categorized under this 'emo' label. i would never ever think of killing myself and i can say with certainty that my friends who share my musical taste do not have suicidal thoughts either. didnt the term 'emo' begin with bands like jimmy eat world and dashboard confessional? do they sound violent to you?

wtf is an emo initiation anyway? who comes up with stupid things like this? cutting yourself to be initiated? are you people insane? isnt it about the music anymore? apparently, its all about fitting in now. if that's the case, what is the difference between an emo kid and a sorority kid? sounds like peer pressure to me. the pressure of fitting in, the pressure of being like everyone else. young people go astray easily.

emo bashing in mexico. what is the world coming to? bashing up people because they dress a certain way. doesn't this happen to the 'goths' as well? if that's the case, does this mean it's alright for me to go around bashing paris hilton look-a-likes?

who are these people to discriminate anyway? Who gave them right to think they can exist while the other can't? discriminating against people because of their looks. its no different than racism.
