happy new year!

hey everyone! here's wishing you HAPPY NEW YEAR!! since i'm not one with the patience to go through all the hassle of thinking up nice pretty things to say i'll just say this from the heart: hope that this year will be better than the last for everyone. it's been a pretty rough year for loads of people i know. including myself. so here's to a stress free, problem free, brand new year.

so last sunday saw an outing with the B's (minus carlyn and yen) :) went to midvalley to watch eragon! i enjoyed the movie though it seemed a bit short. i get the feeling that they cut out a lot of the storyline from the book. i cant be sure though since i haven't read the book yet. had lunch at nandos before that. kinda disappointed that i didnt manage to buy anything much from this shopping trip. lol. i suppose i'm one of those people who absolutely must buy something whenever i go shopping. it actually feels like you've forgotten something when you get back home haha.

anyways, the rest of this week has been pretty uneventful. so i started reading again. yeah i haven't picked up a book in ages. Haven't bought a new one recently either. so i decided to re-read the whole Belgariad and Mallorean series by David Eddings again. i never get sick of those books. hehe. I think i'm gonna re-read dragonlance too. there's an animated movie of dragons of autumn twilight coming out sometime next year if i'm not mistaken. and i wanna read neil gaiman's stardust too. arghh... so much to read, so little time. i start college again in less that a freaking month! whaddafu*k! i have so much more to do!!! *groan*

and i found the video for nickelbacks's 'if everyone cared'!! i'm so happy they decided to release this song cos it's gotta be my favourite song by them. it's lyrics are pretty deep and the video shows clips of the people's fight for peace. they could have made the transition between the band playing and the clips a bit smoother though. i think they made it a bit choppy. lol. anyways here's the video.

penang trip 2006

i'm baaaackkkk!!! lol. had a fun time in penang with my family this year. possibly the best time so far (and *ahem* best year for checking out hotties too *coughs*) we went around the town quite a bit this year. we usually just bum around batu feringghi but this year mum insisted we do more. lolz.

we left on friday at 5.30 am!! madness. i haven't woken up so early in a loooooong time. surprisingly i didnt have much problems. considering the fact that i slept at about 2 something. anyway, it took us about 4 hours plus to reach kedah. we went to kedah first to pray for my grandma. that's the main reason we go every year. after praying we went to penang. had lunch and checked in at about 2pm.

on the first day we basically just bummed around our hotel. went to the beach for a while, swimming pool, went for dinner, came back and played pool. hehe.

on the second day we also hanged out at the beach for a while. after that we went out looking for lunch and went to island plaza just to check it out. the supermarket there was amazing. seriously their cold storage is wayyy better than the cold storage in pj. it was damn huge and you could find almost everything. on the way back we stopped by at the shangri-la rasa sayang resort. cos dad wanted to go check out the prices for their buffet dinners. lol. he wanted to give us a treat but we didnt let him. rm 100+ for one person? NO FREAKIN WAY!!

anyways outside the hotel we spotted this:

anyways on sunday dad decided to drive around the whole island. lol. thats pretty much what we did. found ourselves at the snake temple which we've been to before mind you. what surprised me was the fact that the toilets were actually clean! lolz. we got back to the hotel and my brothers went for a swim in the pool. and me? i went to sleep. haha. went out walking at night to look (and shop) at the night bazaar along the roadside, along the stretch of hotels at batu ferringhi. surprisingly i always enjoy myself here since i'm not a fan of pasar malams. (maybe the fact that there are always hot foreign guys around makes it even better lol)

on monday morning we went out to look for breakfast outside the hotel. we found ourselves at this seafood restaurant for dim sum. and this is where we spotted one of the strangest (and may i add perverted) looking sea creatures i've ever seen.

lol! canada geo duck??? my little brother said they mispelt it. he thinks the 'u' in duck should have been an 'i' instead. lmfao!!!

anyways after breakfast we decided to go to penang town. and we somehow ended up at Fort Cornwallis. We've all been there before except for my mum. so yeah thats how we ended up there again.







oh yeah we went to kek lok si too. cos dad wanted his assam laksa. ended up going into the pagoda as well which was so damn boring!!! and may i add "we've been there before too!!!" sheesh.



after kek lok si we dropped by a petrol station to refill petrol (er..duh) and they had this carwash machine. and to be honest i've never seen a carwash so popular before. lol. cars just kept coming and coming. so since my youngest brother hadnt been inside one before my dad decided to go for it. haha.

later that night we went out walking again, had dinner, walked back, played pool and went for a short walk on the beach where my dad caught a crab. lol.

don't worry, it didnt become our supper. he released it after i snapped these pics haha.

so tuesday was our final day in penang. didnt manage to do much as we had to check out at 12. had breakfast, bummed around a bit packed our stuff and it was time to leave. reached pj at about 5.30 pm and had an early dinner at the chicken rice restaurant near my place when it started raining. check out these birds. so cute lol.

i have to say i think i enjoyed myself in penang this year more than i ever have during our previous trips here. getting away from this house and certain people felt so good. now it's back to my dreary life here. lol. oh well. all good things come to an end eh? now what i really need to do is some catching up with some the B's. hehe. Eragon anyone?

sooo since Christmas is just around the corner i will type an open wish list to Santa since, you know, we're living in a technologically advanced world now. lol, no actually i'm just doing this for fun cos i seem to like making lists. haha

here we go (please don't think too badly of me for wanting all this. lol)

2) an ipod!! with er... 80 gigs worth of space!
3) a car!!
4) evanescence new(or should i say 'old' since it was out in OCTOBER *sigh*) cd
5) tickets to see muse in singapore! (wait i think my passport has expired)

7) an electric guitar!!
8) or a gibson acoustic!
9) new clothes!
10) new shoes!
11) my own computer! (...that actually works mind you)

hmm. i think that's it. for now. muahaha. no Christmas greeting from me yet. don't worry, I'll greet you with your fav christmas greeting ani. lol.

i just found out that muse will be in Singapore in January. NoooOOooOOooooo! why not malaysia? why doesn't any good rock band come to malaysia? why does only (like rachel said) lame pop groups come to malaysia? sheesh. i'm so irritated. But then again, if they do come here, i don't think anyone i know is interested enough in muse to go for their concert with me. lol!

anyways i've been keeping myself busy these past few days trying to colour something on illustrator. just a simple drawing but its taking me ages to colour it since 1) i'm not good in vector art and 2) i'm constantly distracted by other things lol. but hey if i like the finished product enough maybe i'll post it on dA haha.

I went shopping yesterday with my family to buy new clothes. cos well i'm goin for a beach holiday and some of my shorts aren't really presentable anymore so i needed new clothes. haha. and i bought a pair of cute shoes which are uh.. completely unrelated to a beach holiday lol. i think i'm gonna look a bit different next semester. seriously. i'm gonna let my more feminine side show this sem. hell, why not? and i'm sick of people asking me "omg why look so girly wan today?" when i just wear a fucking pair of heels instead of my usual chuck taylors. sheesh. in case you didnt notice, i'm a girl. get used to it.

Yay rachel's exams are over!and yay she's back online! and yay i'm goin off on friday! but boo that means wont be able to hang out with bums this weekend :( haha. eh wait for me before you guys plan anything ok? hehehe..

so i probably wont be posting anything here for a while.

p.s: would it be incredibly big headed for me to say that i think i inspired certain people? or maybe influenced. seriously. i mean if not for me that person wouldn't have..er nevermind. haha. ask me if you're curious. lol.
