rock star supernova!

hahaha... rockstar supernova again you may ask? just read a bit of news regarding that problem they were having with their name. Apparently since they aren't allowed to use the name 'supernova', they have now settled for 'rock star supernova'. I read it here .

streetwear. again.

I feel so relieved that i don't have to go to coll today. so since i have plenty of time, i suppose its time for an update. Though i don't really have anything to blog about now that rockstar supernova is over...lol.

Yesterday i had a photoshoot for my garment. This project was a collaboration between the fashion design students and the hair academy students. We were given the assignment weeks ago...or was it months? lol. So typically, i put off doing my garment until the last minute again. yes i am ashamed to admit it. Thank goodness i managed to finish it in time. Didn't take as long as i thought it would :p (see this is why i never learn my lesson...cos things always seem to turn out ok lol)

The theme for the garment was supposed to be 'streetwear'. For some reason, my college always seems to have this weird obsession with 'streetwear' O_o. But hey, works for me :) Made my garment with plain black fabric and tartan(which i managed to get from my aunt who's living in England). Those who know me should know that tartan is one of my favourite materials, lol. so yeah, i made it with tartan. And the result? Punkish. Haha.. Exactly what i wanted. woohoohoo.

i got Trenesha to model my design for me. Was a little worried at first that she wouldn't be able to pull off the punk look cos i think she looks like she's better suited for the glamorous/sexy look. But hey, i think she did well. Thanks so much tre, i owe you one :)

I got her to pose with my guitar for a couple of shots. wasn't too sure about how it would look though, cos an electric would have suited my design more ( i only have an acoustic). but wth. it's up to them to choose the pics not me. Since i had to carry lotsa stuff, i wasn't sure how i was supposed to bring my guitar to coll. lol. cos i don't drive to coll, i take the fu*king bus instead. So i asked my bf to take it for me. I feel bad for always asking him to do things for me. especially since we dont live that near to each other. but i was desperate. so thank you so so so much :)

I never thought i'd miss my guitar so much until he took it. damn. I've been dying to try playing My Hero by Paramore cos the chords look pretty simple. And i love the song. It was originally by the Foo Fighters. But Paramore's version is a really nice acoustic version. Oh well, i'll just have to wait. Don't wanna chase him to give it back. Already troubled him too much. haha..

Well now that the photoshoot project is over, i feel so much better. Felt so stressed out before it. Now that it's over i can finally worry about my other subjects (actually that doesn't sound too good either but wth..at least i got one down) lol.

anyway, i think it's time to go. But before that, i just wanna wish all the best to one of by best friends yen who'll be leaving to study in india soon. we're gonna miss you loads! make sure you're making the right decision cos it better be worth leaving all your friends here!!! hahaha... well, time to go. byeee...

Yep. this is him. the guy who's gonna be fronting Supernova. Or well... maybe they'll be known as something else in the near future. Cos apparently, they are being sued or something like that by a band who have been called supernova since 1993 or something like that. wow. controversy before they release their first single. totally rock and roll. hahahaha.

anyways, back to last night's show. final four : lukas, dilana, toby and magni. The bottom two were magni and toby. They both had to perform a song. Magni did 'fire' by jimi hendrix and toby did 'white wedding' by billy idol. I really like Magni. Unfortunately, he was the first to be eliminated. *sigh* oh well. And then there were 3. They had to perform again. (so toby had to perform twice that night lol)Lukas did 'bittersweet symphony' by the verve, dilana did 'zombie' by the cranberries and toby did 'somebody told me' by the killers. notice how all the bands name start with 'the' lol. im so jobless. anyways. toby was the next to be cut. it was so funny.they heaped praises on him and then suddenly..."sorry you're the next to go" lol

So it was finally down to Lukas and Dilana. And at the end of the night, it was Lukas who was chosen. The Chosen One. woohoohoo. ok so im a bit nutty today lol. maybe its the exhaustion. haha.

On a brighter note, i managed to finish my design. hahaha. relief has never felt so good. Feels better than after you've sneezed. haha. ok i think it's time i leave. before i make myself sound stupider. (i'm not a bimbo btw *shudders* lol)

So yesterday and today was the finale of Rockstar Supernova... But before i get into that, a quick recap on last week's performance and elimination. The 5 remaining rockers performed their original song and a cover version.

Unfortunately for Storm, she was the 11th person to be eliminated. I kinda liked her original. and i liked lukas' original too :)

Ok so yesterday was the first part of the finale for Rockstar Supernova. I havent caught the final part yet. I think it's kinda hard to choose the best one. cos i kinda like them all. i like magni. But i think it's gonna be Lukas.

The show was opened by Ryan Star who was back by popular demand. He performed his song 'Back of your Car'. The final four had to again perform one cover and one original. The original being the same song they sang last week. Out of the four originals, my favourite was Lukas's 'Headspin'. And he did it acoustically this week which was really nice. I'm not too keen on Dilana's original though.. lol. For the covers, Toby did 'Karma Police' by Radiohead, Lukas did 'Fix You' by Coldplay, Dilana did 'Roxanne' by The Police (accompanied by magni, lukas and toby lol), and Magni did 'Hush' by Deep Purple (wow).

I think they all did pretty well with both the covers and their originals. It's pretty tough to choose a winner. But my bet's on magni or lukas.

i bring it all upon myself

Wow. First time i'm posting three consecutive posts one after another. So this is the one i rant about my crap life. lol. Anyways... here is what is goin on in my life right now. What else? ASSIGNMENTS. I am so crap at timing myself and getting my work done on time. I always tell myself that i'm gonna get started on something but i always (and without fail) manage to not do it. procrastination. over and over again. And for the strangest reasons, i never learn my lesson. i bring it upon myself. *sigh*

So i was supposed to (apparently) hand up a jacket yesterday (which we started weeks ago). Needless to say, I have not completed it. In fact, it is still in my room, sitting by the sewing machine with it's sleeves still not attached (PLUS i still have to attach the lining. arghhhh). I went to college yesterday dreading what was gonna happen to my marks if i didnt hand it up on time (cos we got a different lecturer for pattern drafting this sem). Luckily, my classmate told me (thank you) that we could hand it up on monday. as long as we include buttons on the garment. yay! i thank my '(occasionally not so-) lucky' stars that my sewing machine can sew button holes. *phew*

So right after this i'm gonna go and (hopefully) complete my jacket. It fits me pretty well actually. Hope we get it it back. So i can wear it myself next time. hehehe. I better go now. Cos after my jacket i still have to do my fashion design. ARGHHH. ok then. thats all for today. ~out~
