Yeah i now it's an old song. But it's one of my favs so wth. haha. just felt like posting it since i've started listening to it non-stop again. maybe by doing this it'll stop replaying in my head... er...i'm being dumb. so anyway, here it is. incubus' video for drive! (complete with lyrics below so you can start singing along as well. lol)
INCUBUS-DRIVE
Sometimes, I feel the fear of uncertainty stinging clear.
And I can't help but ask myself how much I'll let the fear take the wheel and steer.
It's driven me before, and it seems to have a vague, haunting mass appeal.
But lately I am beginning to find that I should be the one behind the wheel.
Whatever tomorrow brings, I'll be there with open arms and open eyes.
So if I decide to waiver my chance to be one of the hive will I choose water over wine and hold my own and drive?
It's driven me before and it seems to be the way that everyone else gets around.
But lately I'm beginning to find that when I drive myself my light is found.
So whatever tomorrow brings, I'll be there with open arms and open eyes. Yeh.
Would you kill the Queen to crush the hive?
Would you choose water over wine.... hold the wheel and drive?

and then there were six
So rather predictably (no offense intended), Patrice Pike is the latest rocker to get kicked out of Rockstar Supernova. After all, it was her 4th week in the bottom 3. Magni and Toby(who got to perform with Supernova this week on their new track) joined her in the bottom 3.
For the bottom 3 performances, Magni performed 'fire' by Jimi Hendrix. Awesome performance. He seriously was like a pro up there. In fact, that was the first time i've seen Lukas cheering for anyone. LOL... Patrice performed 'middle of the road' by The Pretenders and Toby performed 'plush' by Stone Temple Pilots. I think voting has become more difficult these past few weeks. Cos most of them there are pretty good.
I am however, a little disappointed with Dilana these days. Her performances are still good. but unfortunately she seems to be getting a little too confident. Sure, she's being honest. But i don't think it's right to talk about the other rockers in such a negative way. Ah well...

snakes on a plane
no. i am NOT talking about the movie. well it's related to the movie. it's the song from the movie. I wasn't planning to watch the movie (and i'm still not planning to). how interesting can a movie about snakes set loose on a plane be? just lots of screaming can be expected. right? (so shoot me, im a cynic)
back to the topic. I saw the video for the song 'snakes on a plane (bring it)' today on channel v. The song is by Cobra Starship. The main thing that caught me was William Beckett. Yep, the frontman of 'the academy is..'. I love 'the academy is...'. awesome band. So anyway, the song 'snakes on a plane' features william beckett, Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes, and Maja Ivarsson of The Sounds. not that bad a song actually ( or maybe i'm just biased since William Beckett is in it lol).
"the academy is...". william beckett is second from right
And here's a little extra information, Cobra Starship (Gabe Saporta) had previously been around PRIOR to the movie 'Snakes On a Plane'. So his existence was not influenced by the movie at all. ;) and i also noticed that Fall Out Boys' Pete Wentz made a cameo in the video as well. lol.

The Darkhorse
Damn you Dave Navarro! i was about to say that Ryan Star is the dark horse to win this competition but you just HAD to mention it. ah well... So as i was saying, yes i think Ryan is the dark horse to win Rockstar Supernova. Al though, Dilana is still doing very well. Right now i'm kinda lazy to actually list down all the performances... gargh.. but oh well. here goes.
Patrice performed an original song this week called 'beautiful thing'. i kinda liked the song but i don't think it was very supernova-ish. Dave was right. she should go solo instead. Magni performed the Nirvana classic 'smells like teen spirit'. Ryan did his own song too: 'back of your car'. Storm performed 'crying' by Aerosmith, Dilana did 'every breathe you take' by Sting/the Police, Toby performed 'layla' by Derek and the Dominos (that was one wicked performance) and Lukas did 'all these things that i've done' by the Killers. there was a new tone to Lukas' voice that we've never heard before...
Overall i think everyone did good. can't really choose favourites nowadays cos it's so hard. And eliminations are becoming difficult now cos most of those left in the running are all pretty good. Ah well...
So anyways, i'll just have to catch the elimination tonight. since i missed it again this morning. kekeke...

YAYYYYYY!!!!
the title says it all. i am soooooo happy that Zayra has finally been kicked out of rockstar supernova! I was kinda expecting to see Patrice get the boot, but after watching the Bottom 3 performances, i kinda thought that there was a glimmer of hope that Z will get kicked cos her bottom 3 performance of Blue October's 'razorblade' kinda sucked. lol. Patrice performed 'celebrity skin' by Hole ( i just love that song) and Magni (who suprisingly ended up in the bottom 3) did Creep by Radiohead.
Before the bottom 3 was announced though, supernova performed their song 'leave the lights on' with Dilana. i was kinda expecting them to choose Dilana. I like her a lot but i'm a bit worried that she's becoming a bit too confident? hmm...
Anyways, i tried sewing a waistcoat with my new sewing machine. hehehe... i figured since we were learning how to draft jackets in college, waistcoats should be exactly the same (if not easier) since i dont have to sew sleeves! hehehe... Surpisingly, it turned out quite well (for my first attempt ya noe, lol!)! Love using my machine...its so damn easy! hehehe... well then i gotta get goin now. OUT!

in the air tonight
watched rockstar supernova last night and missed the results show this morning. overslept as usual. hehe... so here's my weekly 'review'(of sorts) of rockstar supernova:the performance show. my favourites last night were probably Magni and Ryan. Magni did 'starman' by David Bowie and Ryan did 'in the air tonight' by Phil Collins. And Dilana and Lukas did good too (Dilana did 'cat's in the cradle' by Harry Chapin and Lukas did 'hero' by Nickelback). Toby was ok with Peter Gabriel's 'Salisbury Hill'. I was a bit disappointed with Storm this week. She did 'i will survive' by Gloria Gaynor. It wasn't bad but it wasn't as good as her previous performances. But then again, i guess we cant expect a 'wow' performance every week!
Surprisingly, i found Zayra's performance this week tolerable. She performed an original song. However... i think it only showed once again that she is not suitable for supernova. Can you imagine Supernova doing Latin songs? um...no. As much as i would love to see Zayra go though, i think it will be Patrice who gets the boot this week. Her performance of the Police hit 'message in a bottle' was pretty flat. oh well' i guess we'll just have to wait another week for Zayra to go. bummer.
On a personal note, classes in college started about three weeks ago. It's been pretty ok so far but i'm already getting stressed out knowing what else there is to come. I guess it's to be expected... On brighter note, i finally got my own sewing machine! No more using that ancient ancient ancient machine (though i have to say it is really easy to use)! Hopefully this will make my sewing work more tolerable... we're doing jackets, cheongsams, and our own designs this semester.
people have told me before that i have no emotions. or that i dont show any. hmmm... in a way i guess it is kinda true. Dont know why im explaining myself here but sometimes i find it hard to show any. i dont know why. i certainly feel emotions. im just afraid to show them, maybe? i dont know. I think i'm an alright person. just give me a chance to show myself, even though it may take a while :D i think im a person you gotta know before you can like me. if you don't know me you'll prolly think im unfriendly cos i hardly talk. i'm a shy person (always have been).
And one last thing: you gotta know me really well before you can understand how i am and who i am. Dont talk if you dont understand.
So thats all for this post. kinda different from my previous posts since i don't usually talk bout anything but music. Maybe i should make this blog more personal. Haha... i'm out.

screaming and screeching doesnt make a good singer!!!
I don't believe it. how could she be safe again??? it's insane! i'm so sick of myself repeating this over and over again. Zayra is still in the running! arghhh... why?? @#%&*$%$#@
So anyways, back to the main subject. This weeks's performances overall were all not bad. Favourites this week: magni, lukas, dilana and storm. Magni did an acoustic version of live's 'the dolphins cry'. He was my favourite performer this week. It was so nice of Supernova to bring his family over.. ^^Dilana performed The Who's 'won't get fooled again' with Gilby Clarke on guitar. Lukas did 'Creep' by Radiohead and Storm performed 'we are the champions' by Queen.
As for the other contestants, Jill performed 'mother mother' by tracy bonham. Ryan performed (rather amusingly) 'paint it black' by the rolling stones, zayra (eurgghh) did 'all the young dudes' by david bowie (wth was with that fugly outfit btw???), josh performed 'interstate love song' by the stone temple pilots (with tommy lee on drumssss), patrice did 'instant karma' by john lennon and toby performed 'burning down the house'by talking heads.
So this week's surprise was that TWO contestants were eliminated. This week Ryan (surprisingly), josh and jill ended up at the bottom. ryan was spared the cut. and both josh and jill were given the cut. i'm glad that jill was cut cos she was really beginning to annoy the hell outta me. she screams most of her songs, she refuses to back down in an argument, she goes on and on and on about things... sheesh. and what was that attack on the contestants who havent performed with supernova all about?? Just cos you perform with supernova, doesnt mean you're good! (take jill for example lolololol)
so thats all for this week ( i still cant believe that woman is still in the competition grrr)

call me when you're sober
Evanescence have a new single out! it's the first single from their upcoming album, 'The Open Door' which is due for release in october(i think). the song's title? 'call me when you're sober'. i'm so happy cos i love evanescence, they're one of my favourite bands and i've been waiting for new songs for ages. i still kinda prefer their previous efforts, but hey, i still like it :) watch the new video here.
So back to rockstar supernova. i'm kinda disappointed that dana had to go home. she's not a bad singer (though, her suitability for supernova as always been questioned). everyone knows who i would absolutely LOVE (notice the exaggeration, lol) to see go home. but alas, she wasnt even in the bottom 3! (dammit, lol). dont know why she's still there *big big sigh*. anyways, among the bottom 3 i think i would have prefered jill to go back. she kinda over-sings and i find her attitude annoying sometimes (she goes on and on and on about things, sheesh). lol. no offense meant. anyways, ill be off now. pray that supernova eliminate the RIGHT PERSON next week!!!

celebrity skin
i just caught the live telecast of rockstar supernova. performance show number 5. and to be honest with ya, my favourite performance was not by Dilana. it was by Ryan Star and Storm Large. Ryan did 'losing my religion' by REM. and the thing i liked about it was that he did a piano version. very nice and very raw. i think he made it his own. he's really beginning to grow on me. he seems to be getting better every week. and same goes for Magni i think. I love Storm. it seems that no matter what she does, she does it really well. This week she did 'changes' originally by David Bowie. It was a nice change (excuse the pun) to see her do something more mellow and more emotional. As usual, dilana still delivered but she wasnt my favourite of the night. The other contestants did pretty well i think overall. i think that after Phil's elimination (and may i add completely unfair elimination - heck even the other contestants agreed) last week everyone is trying to put their best efforts into their performances. but to be honest, i still don't get Zayra. i just dont feel that her performance this week justifies Phil's elimination last week. ok phil wasnt that great in the first place but i still think he's more of a rocker than she is. supernova didnt really like Lukas' version of hole's 'celebrity skin'. i kinda liked it though. but maybe it's just cos i like hole. lol... good band. too bad they broke up. well i'll be goin off. hope i can catch the elimination show tmrw... dont think i'll get the chance though. damn
